We were tasked with developing an experience that would draw in customers to IBM booths at events around the world. We did it a little too well...
The object of the game is to get the highest score by collecting IBM service tokens. These tokens corresponded to different offerings that were featured at the IBM booth. At the end there is a satisfying bonus round where you get to blow up giant robots by punching them with an oversized rocket gauntlet. The fun was infectious. Crowds formed, and the game served as a great mechanism to drive traffic through the booth.
Originally we were going to use wacky spring-loaded hands, but in early testing we decided that shooting rocket-propelled hands was much more fun. Each unique rocket hand also had its own particle trail. Take a look at some of the hands below.
